My mum grew up in Battersea an only child . She married Vic and moved to Guildford my sister was born 11/69 and then me 2 years later 11/12/71 on mums birthday! Unfortunately mum suffered 2 brain tumors the first in 1979 the second in1995 the first left mum weak on her left side and the second she ended up in a wheelchair. In 2004 they moved to Tenerife to help give mum and dad a better life as she was basically living in her bedroom and not getting out much. she had 2 good years out there and made lots of friends. Mum and dad were married 2 weeks short of 40 years. My mum died after suffering with ulcers to her legs and back. She had been in hospital from May 06 -end September 06 then moved to a care home. She never really recovered . She would not talk much and had a peg tube fitted which took away the last thing she could do for herself.Unfortunatly she had to be removed from the care home as they were not treating her ulcers correctly and the one on her ankle was down to the bone again 7 days later she gave up her long battle. At least she is in peace now.The care home is now being closed down as we have found out that they were not legal in anyway and did not have the qaulifications to deal with the terminaly ill they only had basic nursing care. I am having to deal with the death of my beloved mum and the anger of her being mistreated at the end of her troubled life the only thing that i can deal with is that they cant do this to anyone else. Living in Guildford and mum and dad in Tenerife was difficult as i couldnt just pop and she her i managed to get out to see her in July 06 but with money and a family of 4 children i couldnt get out again.my sister and i should have gone to see her a week and a 1/2 after she died which makes it harder we were so close to seeing her again i feel so robbed of that last chance . REST IN PEACE NOW MY DARLING MUM YOU WILL SUFFER NO MORE. Here is a poem from the grandchildren.WE MISS YOU NAN.AND TRY AS WE CAN,WE WANT TO SEE YOU SMILE ONCE MORE,AND WHEN WE THINK OF YOU IN AWE,WE MISS YOU EVEN MORE AND MORE,BUT ITS OK COS YOU,RE UP THERE,WATCHING US GROW YOU CARE.

so, so sorry for your loss....

Becky - have just read your eulogy to your wonderful mum Linda. It is absolutely one of the most painful things - to lose your mum and to feel robbed of precious time with her - even worse. I lost my mum in November and am still raw with pain - it is truly unbearable some days. But your mum sounded like a really lovely woman - enjoying her family and not complaining - what I call a proper mum! She left you with so many wonderful and loving memories - precious little gifts that are yours to keep forever - nothing will ever take them away from you. God will keep her safe for you in Heaven until you are eventually re-united. God bless you and your family and keep that lovely mum of yours in safekeeing for you....

My Wife Lin

She was a wife, a friend and a wonderful mother. she had a fantastic sense of humour. she was a listener and a comforter. She was a remarkable person, and was a fighter overcoming her illnesses with a smile. I just thank God that I was priviledged to have met her and been with her for over forty happy years
